What does an Invisalign^® treatment plan consist of?

An Invisalign^® orthodontic procedure consists of an initial consultation followed by a personalised treatment plan with regular monitoring.

At your first consultation, your dentist will establish if an Invisalign^® teeth straightening treatment is right for you.

Using the latest high-tech digital dentistry equipment, we can create a computerised 3D image of your mouth and teeth. You will be able to see a simulated timeline and end result of your treatment plan.

Treatment

Once you have decided on an Invisalign^® treatment, you will receive new aligners to wear every two weeks. The aligners gradually move your teeth to the desired position. Every 4 to 6 weeks your dentist will review the progress of your treatment.

An Invisalign^® treatments can last from 2 to 18 months, depending on your individual requirements and the complexity of your teeth.

Does the treatment hurt?

The majority of patients do not experience any pain during the treatment. You will notice a gentle pressure which is necessary to move or straighten your teeth. Normally there is no more than slight discomfort.

After your treatment has finished, a retention appliance is frequently required. This prevents teeth from moving back to their original position to maintain your new smile.
